1. Food Waste Minimisation
Food waste is a major contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions, and is a key focus for us across our business:
- ✅ Our data-driven inventory system ensures each market is stocked with the right amount of food, forecasting fluctuations in demand throughout the day, week and year. This helps us keep our food wastage well below the industry benchmark.
- ✅ Any unsold food is that is safe to eat is then donated to local food banks in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, helping to support those in need.
2. Smarter Logistics for Lower Emissions
Transport emissions are another environmental impact from vending/cafe, catering and office supply operators, particularly concerning for large workplaces that may receive multiple daily deliveries from various suppliers. We’ve designed our operations to reduce this impact by:
- ✅ Creating high-density service areas to minimise travel between client sites — in many cases, our clients are located within walking distance of each other.
- ✅ Separating our delivery and market management teams to reduce team commutes and avoid long, unnecessary trips to and from our warehouse and client sites.
- ✅ Consolidating multiple services into one efficient delivery. As a one-stop supplier for all workplace food and beverage needs, we combine deliveries for micro market stock, breakroom essentials, event catering and coffee machine servicing into one visit. This reduces vehicle emissions, minimises site disruptions and gives clients a single point of contact for all their requirements.
3. Sustainable Packaging & Breakroom Essentials
We actively seek eco-friendly solutions to reduce packaging waste and promote sustainability by:
- ✅ Supporting suppliers that use recyclable or biodegradable packaging.
- ✅ Introducing paper-based packaging for our Morsl-branded fresh food
- ✅ Supplying only sustainable, biodegradable cups, cutlery, plates, bowls and coffee stirrers as part of our breakroom procurement offering.
